Former Nevada wide receiver Romeo Doubs entered the Week 3 matchup against Tampa Bay with just six catches for 64 yards through two games. With injuries to the Green Bay receiving core, Doubs was expected to see an increase in reps.

And early on, he made the most of that opportunity.

Doubs caught his first career touchdown pass in Week 4, a 5-yard touchdown pass from Aaron Rodgers in the first quarter to give Green Bay a 7-3 lead in Tampa Bay. He kept that momentum going and recorded 7 receptions in the first half for the Packers.

Coming out of Nevada, some thought Doubs could be a steal in the 2022 NFL Draft. He fell all the way to the fourth round, where Green Bay took him with the 132nd overall pick. They added him to a draft class that had Christian Watson out of North Dakota State as well. Hoping to give Rodgers some weapons with Davante Adams gone.

While it’s just three games into the regular season, this is a good sign for the former Nevada prospect who was a two-time first-team All-Mountain West selection in 2020 and 2021.

Doubs could find himself seeing a bigger role if this play continues here in his rookie year. That would be huge for a Packers team that needs weapons for Rodgers.
