Former Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Derek Carr opted to end his NFL career and retire this offseason, calling it after 11 seasons in the league. Carr was drafted by the Raiders and played nine seasons with the franchise before his final two with the New Orleans Saints.

With Carr retired, he has plenty of time for life away from the football field. However, he still has his eyes on his former team.

The former Raiders quarterback caught up with Shannon Kelly of Nevada Sports Net to talk about life after football. In the interview, he mentioned just how much of a fan he was of Pete Carroll as well as rookie draft pick Ashton Jeanty:

“I love Pete Carroll. I’ve always loved him, always admired him from afar,” Carr told Shannon Kelly of Nevada Sports Net. “His guys play super aggressive, super fast on defense. … On offense, you know they’re gonna run the football, obviously with their draft pick, even though he’s a Boise State Bronco, I’ll look past that he’s a Raider now, so we’re family.”

That’s really good to hear.

It’s clear that Carr is still rooting for his former franchise in hopes that they can turn things around. The quarterback delivered some memorable years for the Raiders before a disappointing end. It’s also nice to see that Carr

But once you wear that silver and black, you’re part of the family for life no matter what happened.
