The Las Vegas Raiders reportedly had a second-year wide receiver have a big spring during OTAs. With questions surrounding Davante Adams’ future with the Raiders, the team needs other receivers on the roster who can impact the passing game.

Maybe they’re already on the roster.

Davante Adams has a contract problem

As previously discussed on LVSN, a Raiders insider thinks Adams’ contract could be prohibitive of him playing in Las Vegas in the near future:

Tashan Reed with The Athletic wrote about one contract the Raiders will have to keep tabs on this year. Reed called Adams’ contract “untenable” because of his 2025 cap hit number:

“Adams is under contract through 2026, but the Raiders have a decision to make next offseason. His 2025 cap hit of $44.1 million is untenable and needs to be worked down via a contract restructure or extension to provide the team with cap relief.

On the other hand, there’s an off-ramp if things take a turn for the worst between Adams and the Raiders. If they traded him next offseason, they would free up $28.4 million in cap space. Either way, 2025 marks an inflection point between Adams and the Raiders”

New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers recently stirred the pot when he said that he plans to play with Adams again. While the Raiders have no plans to trade Adams at this point in the offseason, something could happen before the trade deadline if Las Vegas struggled out of the gate in September.

The Raiders could build around a new receiver.

Tre Tucker could be the next big thing

According to Albert Breer with Sports Illustrated, Tre Tucker had an impressive spring:

Speaking of the receiver spot, Tre Tucker established himself as a player to watch in the spring. He came back off a tantalizing rookie campaign (17.4 yards per catch, 7.7 yards per rush) looking stronger and more explosive, and could add the sort of big-play-waiting-to-happen element to the offense that every team seems to be looking for in the age of Tyreek Hill at that position.

Combine his potential with that of first-round pick Brock Bowers—whom the Raiders are looking forward to seeing in pads next week after seeing his athletic upside and versatility to play all over the formation in OTAs—and Vegas could have a couple of pretty intriguing chess pieces to pair with Adams.

The Las Vegas Raiders have an exciting young offense

The Raiders have exciting young players on offense this season. If Aidan O’Connell can take the next step in training camp, the Raiders could build a solid foundation for the future. O’Connell-to-Tucker could become a classic tandem for a Raiders team that will eventually compete for a Super Bowl.

Will Adams be a part of it?
