An NFL insider believes that the Davante Adams situation with the Las Vegas Raiders is ‘wait and see’

As the Las Vegas Raiders get set to open up training camp this week in California, there are some storylines surrounding the team. And it’s not just the quarterback position that will be in focus but instead Davante Adams.

The veteran wide receiver is one of the stars of the new Netflix series “RECEIVER” and during the show, there have been some moments where Adams looked frustrated. Mix in some media opinions about Davante Adams’ future and it seems like everyone has something to say about it.

That includes NFL analyst Bucky Brooks.

While Davante Adams has been adamant that he’s happy in Las Vegas with the Raiders, Brooks believes that stance could change, calling it a ‘wait and see’ scenario:

“To put this in context, I just got finished watching ‘Reciever’ on Netflix, which was great. But Davante Adams was very, very frustrated with the Raiders. It changed a little bit when Antonio Pierce took over, but he certainly did not feel like he was being utilized to the best of his ability.

“Now you have an offseason where you are able to put a plan in place to make Davante Adams not only the number one receiver but to force-feed him the ball like your number one receiver,” Brooks said. I think this is a wait-and-see situation with Davante Adams.”

There’s really been nothing concrete to show that Davante Adams would want out of Las Vegas after being traded from Green Bay a few years ago. It just seems like speculation and social media chatter that has really stirred things up.

But Adams, like every player, wants to win. And if the Raiders struggle things could change.

Would things change with Davante Adams?

Brooks continued to discuss the Adams situation and brought up the winning portion of the equation.

“If the Raiders are winning and he is actively involved in the game plan, I don’t think it will be an issue,” Brooks said. “If the Raiders get off to a slow start and he doesn’t get the touches he feels that he should be getting as the number one, I think all this conversation swelling up about Davante Adams wanting to get to [the] New York [Jets], I think it may have some legs to it.”

This doesn’t seem like an issue at all entering training camp and Adams being the professional that he is, this shouldn’t be a distraction. The Raiders do need to figure out their quarterback situation long-term and get some stability there.

If they don’t, they are going to waste the prime of Davante Adams career and we don’t want this to be a ‘what-if’ situation when we look back.
