Las Vegas wins its first Stanley Cup in franchise history
Celebrate Las Vegas, you earn it. Sin City is now the city of champions as the Golden Knights beat the Florida Panthers 4-1 to capture the Stanley Cup.
It’s the first Stanley Cup title in the franchise’s six-year history and the second time they have reached the Final in team history. After going up 3-1, the Golden Knights closed it out in Game 5 in dominating fashion.
The Golden Knights grabbed a 2-1 lead early but Florida got a goal to cut it to 2-1. From there, they outscored Florida 6-1 the rest of the way for the 9-3 win. Captain Mark Stone led the way with a hat trick as the Golden Knights dominated from the start.
