Jim Harbaugh and the Las Vegas Raiders reportedly have ‘mutual’ interest

The Michigan Wolverines just wrapped up a perfect season, capturing the national championship on Monday night. With the win, the college football season is over but the rumors swirling with Jim Harbaugh are just beginning.

Harbaugh has been connected to a return to the NFL for months now and with the Las Vegas Raiders having a vacancy, they could be a perfect match.

On Monday, a report suggested that there is ‘mutual’ interest between the two sides. Here is what Jordan Schultz of Bleacher Report posted on X about the situation:

There is mutual interest between the #Raiders and current #Michigan HC Jim Harbaugh. I’m told Harbaugh wants to return to the NFL, and has “a lot of interest” in the #Chargers’ vacancy as well. There is a slew of internal support for Antonio Pierce – whom Davis really likes – but Harbaugh is “at or near the top of his list.”

As it stands now, there are four openings across the NFL with openings. Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Atlanta and Washington all have openings and more could follow. But each has their benefits for Harbaugh, including the Raiders.

If Harbaugh were to want full control with a team, would Las Vegas give that to him? He very well could want his own guys in here in terms of front office structure. Although that is no given. The Raiders could be seeking a home run hire.  And the former NFL coach who knows what it takes to win could fit that mold.
