Las Vegas Raiders TE Darren Waller has agreed to a three-year extension

Darren Waller will be in Las Vegas for a few more years at least.

Ahead of the Week 1 opener against the Los Angeles Chargers, the tight end and Raiders have reportedly agreed to a three-year contract extension. This comes just days after Waller said he’s focused on football and will wait and see about a new deal.

The new deal includes $51MM in new money per Adam Schefter.

Jordan Schultz was the first to report the news on Saturday morning:

The 29-year old Darren Waller has developed into one of the best tight ends in the NFL. He’s also become a a go-to target for Derek Carr in Vegas. In 2020, Waller caught 107 passes for 1,196 yards and 9 touchdowns.

Waller did struggle in 2021 but played in just 11 games for the Raiders. He’s expected to enter the 2022 season healthy, which is a good sign moving forward.

With him here for another three years and the addition of Davante Adams, the Raiders offense is set up to be a good one for the next few years.
