A report suggests the Raiders are inching closer to trading wide receiver Davante Adams

Davante Adams’ time with the Las Vegas Raiders appears to be coming to an end. After rumors swirled that the Raiders were looking to shop Adams just four weeks into the season.

And now, a top Raiders beat writer is reporting some significant news on Tuesday morning.

Vincent Bonsignore of the Las Vegas Review-Journal tweeted that the franchise is at least open to exploring trade opportunities involving Adams.  Woah!

You can see the tweet below:

Prior to this report from Bonsignore, there was just speculation about a potential trade including the team sitting Adams in Week 4 to try and trade him. But he becomes the first and biggest beat writer to now report this development.

It is clear that Adams has grown frustrated with the franchise since he was acquired by the team a few years back from Green Bay. He played just the one season with his best friend Derek Carr and the Raiders’ plan at quarterback has not been good since then. That has led to frustrations with Adams per multiple reports.

On Monday night, head coach Antonio Pierce liked an Instagram post suggesting the team trade Adams this season. That drew some speculation that they might be exploring that idea. And on Tuesday morning, Adams was asked about that on the Up & Adams show with Kay Adams:

“I haven’t heard from [Antonio Pierce]. I haven’t talked to him,” Adams said. “I don’t really know what that was about. Obviously social media is a beast, so it’s a lot of people out there that saw it and wondering what’s going on, and people reaching out.”

Asked by host Kay Adams if he wanted to hear from Pierce, Davante said he didn’t know how to answer.

“Honestly, it’s hard to comment on,” Adams said. “It’s one of those situations where I just keep my head down and keep down my thing, and let the chips fall where they may. There’s been no communication with anybody from the team since that became thing… there’s always some sort of [trade] drama, but at the end of the day one-seven doesn’t create any of it.”

Things are going to get very, very interesting here for the Silver & Black and Adams. Buckle up.
