The quarterback position has been on the minds of many members of the Las Vegas Raiders organization. Head coach Antonio Pierce said after Sunday’s loss to the Carolina Panthers that his staff would evaluate potentially making a quarter change from Gardner Minshew to Aidan O’Connell.

Pierce decided to stick with his veteran instead of promoting his second-year quarterback. Wide receiver Davante Adams wishes the Raiders had a third option.

During a recent interview on the Up & Adams Show, Adams said many in the Raiders organization were hoping Jayden Daniels would fall to Las Vegas in the draft.

“[Daniels is] a special player,” Adams said. “We were hoping that maybe all the teams didn’t think so and he could slip down to the Raiders a little while ago.”

Can you blame Davante Adams?

Who can blame Adams after Daniels’ performance on Monday night against the Cincinnati Bengals? Daniels went 21-of-23 passing for 254 yards and two touchdowns. Daniels added another 39 yards and one touchdown on the ground as the Commanders defeated the Bengals 38-33 in Cincinnati.

Adams has had a slow start to the season. He’s caught 18 passes for 209 yards and one touchdown. The All-Pro receiver is stuck on a team that is in quarterback purgatory this fall.

Pierce wanted the Raiders to trade up for a quarterback. However, general manager Tom Telesco didn’t want to give up precious draft capital to make a deal happen.

Frankly, the Raiders had no chance of trading up for Daniels, who the Commanders took with the No. 2 pick. However, one has to wonder if Adams would have been happy with another quarterback in this year’s draft they could have traded up for. He clearly wanted a new quarterback in Las Vegas before the season.
