Weathers played college football for San Diego State. The Raiders would sign Weathers out of college as an undrafted free agent. He would play linebacker and safety for the Raiders for the 1970-71 seasons. He appeared in eight games for the Raiders.

Weathers did not record any stats in the league.

Following his playing career, Weathers had a successful acting career. His work in Hollywood included Force 10 from Navarone, Predator, and Action Jackson.

Per the Raiders website, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce gave Weathers a Walk of Fame Star:

The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce is proud to honor the late Carl Weathers with the second Sports Entertainment Walk of Fame star,” said Ana Martinez, producer of the Walk of Fame ceremonies.

“Carl left an indelible mark on the worlds of sports and entertainment, and it is our honor to immortalize his legacy on our iconic sidewalk. We are happy to know that Weathers was actively involved in preparing to receive his star before his passing, and that he was very proud to be recognized with this prestigious honor.”

Weathers is the only Raiders player to ever receive a Walk of Fame star. However, other NFL athletes have earned the honor. Terry Bradshaw and Michael Strahan have a star.

Per the Raiders, Grant Irons, Jim Plunkett, Phil Vallapiano, and owner Mark Davis were at the Walk of Fame ceremony on Thursday in support of Weathers.
