Notre Dame leaves Las Vegas with a big win over No. 16 BYU in Las Vegas
The city of Las Vegas is a little more Irish on Saturday night after Notre Dame took down No. 16 BYU at Allegiant Stadium. The Fighting Irish grabbed a 3-0 lead early and fell behind 6-3. But after that, it was all Notre Dame.
They scored 22 unanswered points to take a 25-6 lead in the third quarter. The Fighting Irish would hold off a late BYU rally by stopping the Cougars on fourth and one and then running out the clock to preserve the big victory.

The Fighting Irish were led by quarterback Drew Pyne, who completed 22 of his 28 attempts for 262 yards, 3 touchdowns and just 1 interception. After replacing Tyler Buchner in the Marshall game, Pyne has now led Notre Dame to three-straight wins. That includes a road game at North Carolina and now a neutral site game in Vegas against BYU.
Tight end Michael Mayer had a monster game for the Fighting Irish, catching 11 passes for 118 yards and 2 touchdowns. The 11 receptions were the most in a single game by a Notre Dame tight end in program history.
Running back Audric Estime added 97 rushing yards on 14 attempts, including a few big runs in the second half.
Notre Dame is now 3-2 on the year and has the chance to keep things going next week against Stanford.
