Raiders get first win but task gets tougher in Week 5 vs. Chiefs

The Raiders get into the win column in Week 4 but another AFC West showdown looms in Week 5

The Las Vegas Raiders entered Sunday’s Week 4 matchup with Denver as the lone winless team in the NFL, a disappointing start to the 2022 campaign. But they left the home game with a win as head coach Josh McDaniels picked up his first career win over his former team.

Las Vegas fell behind 7-3 in the first quarter but managed to grab a 19-16 lead at the break in what was a back-and-forth first half. They did so on the back of running back Josh Jacobs who rushed for 144 yards on 28 carries and two touchdowns.

Jacobs’ helped Vegas hold the lead in the second half with a steady run game, and they eventually put it away late on a career day for the running back:

With the win, Las Vegas is now 1-3 on the year and are hoping to build some momentum moving forward.

However, things don’t get much easier in Week 5.

Tough test for Raiders in Week 5

The Raiders travel to Kansas City to face the 3-1 Chiefs who are fresh off a big road win in Tampa Bay on Sunday night. The Chiefs sit atop the AFC West division with that 3-1 record and appear to be firing on all cylinders right now.

With Patrick Mahomes leading the offense and a solid defense, the Chiefs are a tough team to face especially at home. For a Raiders team who wants to continue this winning feeling and get on a win streak, Monday’s game is going to be a tough task.

And it could be a season-changer for the Raiders.

With a divisional win under their belt already and a Week 1 loss to Los Angeles, the Raiders not only need to stack wins but get crucial divisional wins as well. The AFC West is one of the toughest divisions in all of football, so nothing will come easy but getting that win would be HUGE for the chances early on.

But that’s easier said than done. Let’s hope Vegas can continue this and keep the winning ways going here in Week 5.
