The Las Vegas Raiders are making a midseason shakeup to its coaching staff following a 41-24 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday at Paycor Stadium. The Raiders’ offense was so bad that at the start of the game, Desmond Ridder took over for Gardner Minshew. This was the third time this season that Minshew had been benched.
The loss dropped the Raiders to 2-7 on the season. They are tied for having the league’s worst record after the first weekend in November. Head coach Antonio Pierce has backed Luke Getsy for much of the season, but he sent a warning to the offensive coordinator before the Bengals game that his play calling needed to be better.
It wasn’t.
The Las Vegas Raiders fired OC Luke Getsy
Per a statement by the Raiders, the team fired Getsy late on Sunday night. Offensive line coach James Cregg and quarterbacks coach Rich Scangarello were also fired.
We have relieved Luke Getsy, James Cregg, and Rich Scangarello of their duties with the Las Vegas Raiders.

Getsy was the Chicago Bears’ offensive coordinator from 2022-23. He was fired after the 2023 season when the Bears ranked 19th in total points per game (21.2). The Raiders average scoring 18.7 points per game, good enough to rank 26th in the NFL.
Antonio Pierce has a head coaching record of 7-11 with the Raiders. Five of those wins came as the interim head coach of the team in 2023.
