The Las Vegas Raiders like how cornerback Jakorian Bennett has progressed in year two. The Raiders selected Bennett in the fourth round of the 2023 draft.
Bennett didn’t turn too many heads during his rookie season. He started in four games and appeared in 14. He recorded 32 tackles and had three passes defensed.
Bennett has the same number of passes defensed through the Raiders’ first two games of the season, both starts.
Praise for Jakorian Bennett
Per the Raiders’ website, head coach Antonio Pierce offered praise for Bennett:
“I love where JB has gotten to,” Pierce said. “He was kind of a grabby player last year getting some penalties uncalled for, and now he’s just trusting his technique. Obviously, he can run with everybody, 4.2-4.3 speed there. But just the ability to play the ball down the field. Each and every time he makes a play, that’s more confidence for us.”
A Bennett deflection fueled the Las Vegas Raiders’ Week 2 win
One of the defections from a pass Bennett tipped helped fuel the Raiders’ comeback win over the Baltimore Ravens in Week 2. The deflection was intercepted by teammate Robert Spillane. The offense would score a touchdown off the turnover.

The Raiders will play the Carolina Panthers in Week 3. Maybe Bennett can record an interception of Andy Dalton.
